Philippine Independence Day Celebration NYC June 7, 2009

What a perfect day for a parade. Marching down Madison Avenue with several members of the UPMASA (The University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society in America), we were greeted by the enthusiastic crowd with the traditional "Mabuhay", and even chants of "Makibaka, huwag matakot", reminding us of the student protests during our time in UP.

Did not get to see the entire parade though. Had to hurry back to the Damayan booth to help with the free health screening.
